Abstract
El Sistema de Información para el Proceso de Acreditación de la Universidad Santo Tomás es el esfuerzo de muchas personas que colaboraron en el proyecto de forma permanente, no solo para plantear una solución a la administración de la información generada en el proceso de acreditación,
sino también para involucrarse realmente en el mejoramiento continuo de cada facultad y con el compromiso de alcanzar la misión de la institución. El presente trabajo detalla cómo en la etapa de diseño se modeló la realidad del proceso de acreditación con la ayuda de diferentes diagramas: diagrama arquitectónico, diagrama entidad relación y el diagrama de clases que encapsula la lógica del negocio. Al concluir el diseño se inició la tarea de implementar el sistema, para esto se utilizó el patrón Modelo Vista Controlador. En el modelo se creó la base de datos con sus tablas y atributos, así como también se crearon las clases utilizando la arquitectura JEE. Para la vista se manejó el framework de ICEfaces buscando una interfaz amigable con componentes ricos que ayudan al usuario a trabajar fácilmente en la aplicación.
