Abstract

The cosmetics industry presents major challenges for environmental sustainability. The demand for lipsticks is high and causes problems for the environment and for people's health, as they are made with petrochemicals and polymers. Likewise, the emotional needs where people seek to generate security and confidence through make-up that allows them to experiment, express themselves and make each person who uses it feel better. Therefore, as future Industrial Engineers, we contributed with knowledge in the area of design and entrepreneurship through the detection of opportunities, the solution and optimisation of resources. For this reason we sought to design an eco-friendly lipstick based on organic raw materials, which was carried out by means of a methodology divided into 3 stages. This article describes the design and manufacturing activities of the eco-friendly lipstick, the selection of raw materials, the production and creative process and the business model. Sacha Lipstick has a liquid presentation to moisturise, hydrate and protect, as well as giving a long-lasting "cherry" shade, contributing positively to being manufactured with organic raw materials.
