Elaboración de Briquetas a partir de Aserrín y Viruta de Pinus SPP como Energía Alternativa en el departamento de Boyacá, Colombia. Production of briquettes from sawdust and Pinus spp shavings as alternative energy in the department of Boyacá, Colombia
Main Article Content
Abstract
The need for energy sources becomes eminent with the passing of days, by effect of population growth and implementation of circular economy in the various productive processes, pollution of natural resources as a result of toxic gas emissions and inadequate disposal of solid waste inevitably affects ecosystems and man. For this reason, the generation of renewable energy from biomass (sawdust and chips) is proposed as an alternative in order to reduce and mitigate the environmental impacts that contribute to climate change, by manufacturing briquettes with sawdust and wood shavings from Pinus spp using cassava and corn starch as binders for compaction. Four briquettes were built with different combinations, of which the sawdust-cassava starch, sawdust-cassava starch and corn were the best agglomerated and most compacted, meanwhile the chip-sawdust-cassava starch and corn, and the chip-sawdust-sawdust Cassava starch got rid of. It is thus evident that, for the manufacture of these, the most suitable material as raw material is sawdust and as a binder cassava and corn starch are relevant for this purpose
