Abstract
Este artículo tiene como objetivo hacer un análisis de la utilización de software libre en la educación en América Latina, la evolución y qué herramientas se pueden usar para dar cumplimiento al plan TIC impulsado por el gobierno nacional, para el caso de Colombia. Lo anterior llevaría a tener un análisis del proceso tecnológico que cualquier entidad educati-
va puede tomar para lograr todos los objetivos académicos y tecnológicos. En cada uno de los parámetros analizados se concluye que el software libre es la oportunidad que tiene Colombia para evolucionar en la parte educativa en la implementación de las TIC.
