Abstract
The caregiver of a person who survived from a cerebrovascular accident can be a young adult from 18 to 25 years old; he does this because of economical, social and cultural reasons. The treatment offered to the surviving can affect the caregivers’ life. In this analysis of the literature, we have done a State of the Art of the needs to take in consideration concerning the young caregivers or adults, who are in charge of a surviving parent of a CVA. A results analysis grid was done in order to show the different necessities specified through the literature.
After analyzing the results, a lot of needs have to be taken into account with the aim of promoting the well-being of the caregivers. The occupational therapist, the multidisciplinary team and the assistance services can put in practice these recommendations for creating a positive change for the caregivers and their families, offering them the support they need.
