Abstract
This study focuses on a new approach in the educational setting which encourages the learners to learn a foreign language through sociocultural exchanges, the progression of the action contents and the use of the language. That is what the CECR proposes for teaching foreign languages in Europe. This study aims at implementing the action perspective at high education level as means to approach the B1 FFL (French as a foreign language) learners from a public university in Colombia to the French culture. Furthermore, this project aims at answering the following questions: How the implementation of the action perspective can approach the B1 FFL learners to the French culture and what is the impact of this one in the education of FFL? The design adopted for this study was the action research which was developed with B1 FFL learners. Thus, the instruments used in order to collect the data are the observation, the video recording, the interview and the reflective journal. The data gathered from the different instruments allow verifying that the implementation of tasks in class of FFL aids the students to develop a set of necessary communicative and sociocultural skills to face the authentic situations of the target language. In this sense sociocultural tasks encourage the students to learn the language by being in touch with the target culture. These tasks have a positive impact on the FFL learning process at the emotional level.
