Abstract

A lexicon provides clues to which word and which part of its meaning is central to the human mind. It allows to the identification of differences between cultures, through lexical relationships and the minimal features associated with usage, in a group of people. In addition, it is fundamental because it helps to organize concepts into categories, which reveal interesting phenomena in languages and their diatopic, diaphasic and diastratic varieties. In the interest of approaching a bipartisan lexicon, this article presents the semantic and lexical analysis of two words, liberal and conservative, belonging to the political identities of Boyacá in the mid-twentieth century. Based on the mixed approach and the lexical-semantic method, field work is carried out with a thematic axis: April 9th, 1948. Subsequently, the stories are transcribed, frequencies and co-occurrences are found, and possible relationships between lexical units are analyzed, as well as links of identity, inclusion and opposition between words that are specific to the department, that are repeated without the speakers knowing each other and that remain in the generations. With concepts, relationships and links of hypernyms, hyponyms, synonyms and antonyms, lexical networks are built. The conclusions aim to discover a semantic field of bipartisanship, and with this, clues that lead to an analysis of prosodic elements and the relationships of meaning.
