Abstract

La Estrategia del Caracol is a Colombian film that appeared on screens in 1993, quickly gained significance and cultural preponderance not only at the national level, but also earned him important recognition in theaters and international spaces, for all this, its director Sergio Cabrera has been considered one of the great filmmakers of the country. The proposal of this article is based on analyzing the discourse of the main characters that make up the universe of the film, that is, from the enunciations, contexts and intentions that account for the processes that integrate their view of a central problem: the possession of a house, an argument that gives rise to the events of denouement and plot of the feature film. Sifting through the discourses of these characters, we find preponderant social and philosophical traits; initially, the struggle for a house is associated with a strong search for spatial and social recognition, as well as a process of dystopian recognition and utopian ideals. At the end, the main conclusions that express the need to look critically at the successes and discontinuities of the plot, but above all, to interpret the struggle of the occupants of Casa Uribe in the light of social and urban events.
