LA INSUFICIENCIA DE LA REGULACIÓN DEL ABORTO EN COLOMBIA: UNA MIRADA A LOS FACTORES SOCIOECONÓMICOS OMITIDOS
Main Article Content
Abstract
There is currently no law that regulates the voluntary interruption of pregnancy
(VIP) in Colombia, which has led jurisprudence to issue rulings that fill this legal
void. However, this work promoted by the courts has not taken into account
all the factors that lead thousands of women to resort to this procedure. It is
therefore necessary to study in depth the causes that are currently allowed
in other countries, such as the socio-economic factor, in order to understand and meet the needs of these women. Taking this into consideration, this
paper seeks to obtain different perspectives on abortion and thus contribute
to the development of a more complete and equitable regulation that covers
more accurately and effectively the different factors that influence women’s
decisions and guarantees their access to safe and legal procedures in case
they require them.
